2022 seems like a new world but most trends come around in 20 year cycles, so being a UK manufacturer for over 60 years we’ve seen it all, following trends and various looks throughout the 60’s, 70’s, 80s, 90, 00’s and now through the pandemic years. We have seen some great fashion statements that have survived the test of time but will these 2022 be keepers, you decide.
Being in the circle of trust we have heard on the grape vine that one major vibe will be for Demented Denim. If you open anyone’s wardrobe you will find an item made from denim, but this year is the year to rethink denim. Manufactures are changing the old denim to new softer denim, fabrics with a cosy structure for denim making them easier and softer to wear on a daily basis, as a traditional pair of jeans would have been very harsh in some cases. The likes of Diesel, Balenciaga, Fendi by Versace, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Chanel will all be releasing big denim this year. Dealing with the likes of Levi’s, Wrangler, Lee, Timberland, Dickies, we’ve seen it all too, but a new bread of jeans that we have tried and tested is a brand called DML. Great soft fitting jeans that have urban life under control. They also have been manufacturing jeans with a high level of sustainability with new and improved inactive way to help reduce their carbon foot print, as they would say great jeans should be guilt free, so have a look and try for yourself.
Next for 2022 will be the Y2K look, with people set to be sporting Skater jeans with Chains and oversized Sweats for that extra large baggy number, with a cap or bucket hat featuring to finish the look. Again the likes of Dior, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Diesel all set to be releasing items for this Y2K trend. A touch of Tweed will be a huge feature this year with those 2 piece suits replaced by great tweed jackets and hats fit for a Peaky Blinder or a classic country gent or great lady bring back that earthy vibe.
